2011 was the biggest and best yet! The Santa Cruise has raised £9,431 so far which is over
£35,000 since we started 7 years ago!!!
The Burghfield Santa Cruise is an annual
event held in Burghfield Common and surrounding villages raising money for the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance
This
year fifteen intrepid Santa Cruisers hit the streets of Mortimer, Theale, Burghfield Common and Burghfield Village.
As was only appropriate, the Santas were riding reindeer (appropriately
dressed bicycles) for the majority of the route, switching to alternative means of transport in the evening (Reindeer in the
Scout's Minibus).
The Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust is a charity which receives no funding from the NHS or from the National
Lottery, but relies entirely on Sponsorship, donations and fundraising activities such as this
All costs of participation were met by the ‘Cruisers’ so they paid for drink, decorations
- reindeer food and the Santa outfits so all the proceeds from donations and collection go to Thames Valley and Chiltern Air
Ambulance Trust!!!

This year we had a brilliant time, and supported by friends, family, our sponsors and the people of
Burghfield, Mortimer and Theale, including Gift-Aid from our friends in the g/ment we have raised a sack-bulging
£10,600! and still with some remaining corporate gift match to come!!!!!
On the day, the rain looked threatening, but as seems to be the luck of the cruise, all clouds cleared
and we were left with a fantastic day to bring some festive cheer to the streets - and a record... only ONE puncture!
In January we teamed up with our friends
at Unique Outdoor in Wokefield Park to host a laser skirmish day in their woods for a the first lucky 12 teams to buy tickets
and all proceeds went to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance. For more details see the tab above
for the SANTA SHOOT - The ticket sales raised £1,080 towards our target and a great day was had by all. the Scouts did an amazing job on the day with a BBQ and drinks to keep us going! Take a look at the Photos here
